Lower Rhineland joie de vivre and unspoilt nature - that's Brüggen Youth Hostel

Brüggen Youth Hostel enjoys an informal atmosphere: school groups, families and holiday makers will receive a warm welcome here. Young guests can rush around in the workshop or enjoy themselves on the football pitch, while choirs and music groups can mostly be found in the large entrance hall - where the acoustics are excellent. But most of the time people just want to get out into the fresh air! Guests can easily explore the varied surrounding area on one of the hostel's own bicycles.

Brüggen's main attraction start on the doorstep of the hostel: nature! The Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park is particularly attractive for those seeking rest and relaxation. Lakes, streams and fen woods form a unique landscape. In the landscape of lakes and moorlands, you will find oases of tranquillity - but the nature park also offers many opportunities for recreational activities such as hiking and cycling. Amidst this idyllic setting you will find the small mediaeval town of Brüggen, which, with its living history, traditional buildings, such as the Kreuzherrenkloster (monastery), and its romantic atmosphere, attracts visitors from all over Germany.

The youth hostel can also transport school classes back to the Middle Ages: as a team, children can revive old traditions such as the art of the dyer and the knowledge of the Druids. So that everything remains peaceful in your class, Brüggen Youth Hostel also offers programmes aimed at preventing violence. Children can still enjoy a summer holiday in Brüggen just like the ones in their story books: in the "Summer in Bullerbü" programme, they build huts, catch frogs and cook Swedish dishes!

Special features:
  • Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park
  • Hostel's own bicycles available for hire
